I tried to find a thank you card, that would say just what I thought. I had no luck with that at all, so paper’s all I bought. You’re helping hands that sacrificed, your time, your sweat and tears Will have us saying thank you’s , for the rest of our long years. The time you took to help us, showed us your love for God. So I wrote this little poem for you, with a wink, a prayer, and a nod. I’d like to give you each a hug, for all the things you’ve done. To help us in our time of need, you guys are number one! Painting, painting and more paint, seems that was the worst of all, But it meant so much that you would help, and take the load off Paul. If I could just but once say thanks, it would never be enough. Just know how much we love you, now see, that wasn’t quite so tough. There is still so much, we’ve yet to do, to make our house a home, So please come by when you get the chance, should you ever this way roam. The old house is still in repair, painting, cleaning, and wood working too, So much it seems that though we try, we never will get thru. So if you find you’re feeling bored, and you have some time to spare, We still could use your help, you know, there’s plenty to do there! Colleen Cooper 4-24-2006 |

| Objects: Your own hands and the hands of the children. Theme: Prayer Scripture: We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you. Colossians 1: 3 THIS IS FOR WHEN YOU JUST CAN'T THINK OF A PRAYER THAT FITS THE MOMENT AND IT'S EASY TO TEACH NOT ONLY YOURSELF BUT YOUR CHILDREN. ENJOY LEARNING IT, WE DID! 1. I want you to put your hands together in front of you as if you are praying. Keep your eyes open so that you can see your hands. You will notice that the closest finger to you is the thumb. Since it is the closest to you, the thumb reminds you to pray for those that are closest to you. Pray for your parents and your brothers or sisters. 2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers. 3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance. 4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them. 5. And lastly comes our little finger - The smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you," Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively. |
| I AM A WILLOW I watched the willow bend and weep It’s sorrow deep and dark I watched it bend low to the ground And saw the cracking bark I watched the tree lean down so low As if to lay a spell I watched it listing to and fro That tree I know so well I watched the willow almost broken It’s heart so filled with pain It’s leaves could almost touch the water As I watched it bending even lower I watched the willow that seemed to call Out from it’s lonely hell I watched it laying there so sad That tree I know so well I watched the willow begin to rise It’s leaves began to rustle I watched it raise it’s precious head And saw it use it’s awesome muscle I watched the willow stand in place It’s head raised straight to God I watched it smile as if to say Twas saved by amazing grace That tree I know today.
